FOLLICULAR CARCINOMA Growth: Rapid Pathology: Ä MAC: Small pulsating malignant adenoma. Ä MIC: Solid cell masses in attempt for formation of follicles. Non encapsulation and poor differentiation can help to diff. from follicular adenoma Ä Spread:Mainly by blood but lymphatic spread is also common. 2ries are functioning Treatment: 1- Total thyroidectomy either curative with block dissection or palliative to decrease the dose of palliative radioactive iodine. 2- Radioactive iodine treatment ® good results as its uptake by tumour cells and 2ries is good.
