1- Simple retention cyst: In non lactating breast. Aspiration is dangerous if: a) A lump is felt after evacuation. b) Blood is aspirated. c) Cyst refill after evacuation. So, excision is preferred. 2- Galactocele: Obstruction of the duct during lactation. ® small cyst under the areola discharging milk on pressure. Repeated aspiration may cure the case but if resist excise it. 3- Cyst connected to tumour: e.g. cystosarcoma phylloids, cystadenoma and retention cysts proximal to duct papilloma.
