FIBROSARCOMA Definition: Spindle cell sarcoma. Incidence: Any age but more at 3rd & 4th decades. Common sites: Common in extremities. Clinical picture 1- Takes the shape of muscle in which it arise. 2- Usually it shows slow growth of firm, not tender swelling with no or minimal pain. 3- Anaplastic fibrosarcoma may grow rapidly may be painful with variable consistency hard or soft in the center. 4- It tend to infiltrate superficial structures earlier than deep. 5- Dermato fibrosarcoma and periosteal fibrosarcoma shows diff. Cl. Picture. Treatment: ¶ Early Excision of the whole involved muscle with surrounding tissues. ¶ Late Amputation is indicated for big lesions.
